Much like a marriage, finding the right business partner has to be a very good match. For Monica + Andy co-founders Monica Royer and Brian Bloom, a chance introduction resulted in teaming up to launch the company. A decade later, Monica and Brian reflect in a new episode of The Mentor Files on how they’ve worked so well together. Spoiler: Sometimes that involves having different opinions!

“If everybody always tells you you’re doing things perfect and right, you never evolve,” Brian says. 

Along the way, Brian went from being a bachelor to being a married dad of two—which has given him a new appreciation for what Monica + Andy offers. At the same time, his role within the company has evolved as the team has expanded. As he says, “The beautiful thing is you get to bring more specialized talent into every area of the business and really get to learn from those folks.”
